The Store
Student Opportunity & Accessibility Resources (SOAR), located on the ground floor of Sid Richardson, hosts a student food pantry called The Store. Students who would like to access The Store can stop by Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, complete a once-a-year intake form, and then select the food items they need. Students from low-income or working-class backgrounds often feel marginalized on their college campuses and struggle to develop a sense of belonging. These struggles can be compounded when students are unable to access adequate amounts of food because of their financial situations and the stigma that comes with being hungry. The Store seeks to meet that need! This food pantry will provide students in need with supplemental food so they can bring their best to the campus environment and have the strongest likelihood of achieving holistic success. By placing a food pantry in SOAR, we normalize food resources as one of the supports that students can utilize to fully thrive at Baylor.

Baylor Staff Council seeks to address specific holiday season needs of Baylor's food insecure students by sharing what we have with those who might need. Drop off specific items in collection bins across campus or give to The Store's Amazon Wish List. Current needs include rice, pasta sauce, gluten-sensitive snacks and pasta, snack bars , cereal, and milk (shelf stable), but all items are appreciated.
