Advancement Committee

Promote Baylor University Staff Endowed Scholarship initiative (as part of the President’s Scholarship Initiative) through Staff Council. As well as select & organize the sale & distribution of BU branded items to Faculty & Staff; orders are usually taken during the fall so that shirts can be distributed before football season ends.

Constitution and By-Laws Committee

Responsible for reviewing the Constitution & By-Laws for possible revisions; present these proposals for revisions to Executive Council & for Staff Council membership approval.

Marketing and Communications Committee

Maintain & update the website; this committee is also charged with making information about Staff Council more readily available and thinking of ways to increase awareness about Staff Council to include working with all Staff Council committee sponsored events and projects on the SC website, Baylor Faculty/Staff website, News Digest, Human Resource Newsletter, and gather pictures from events to post on the website.

Membership Committee

Ensure that membership distribution of Staff Council is representative of university staff; promote & conduct voting process (call for nominations & election process), welcome new members, and thank members whose term is ending.

Outstanding Staff Committee

A joint effort with Human Resources (“HR”). The Staff Council Chair and the Manager of Learning & Development in HR serve as ex-officio members of the committee to select the award winners for the year. Staff Council appoints seven members, and HR appoints two previous award winners to form the committee voting body.
